1906 - A Deputy Commissioner, FAUROT Joseph A, from the New York City Police Department introduced fingerprinting to the
United States.
1924 - Philip O. Gravelle was a chemist who developed the Comparison microscope with the support and guidance of
1935 - The chief of the Los Angeles Police, August Vollmer, established the first American police crime laboratory.
1954 - In the case of State v Doyle was the first published account involving a conviction based on bite marks as evidence.
1970 - The FBI introduced the beginning of Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) with the first computerized scans
of fingerprints.
1985 - The DNA profiling technique was first reported by Alec Jeffreys.
1990 - The FBI laboratory started a pilot project known today as Combined DNA Index System (CODIS).
